Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how SafalPath handles information when you browse the website, create an account, use career features, submit feedback, or use our browser-based student tools. It describes the current product behavior and should be read together with our Terms and Disclaimer.

2. Information we may collect

Account information

When you register, the service receives your email address and the name you choose to provide. Authentication is handled through our authentication infrastructure.

Career and profile information

If you use career features, you may provide profile details, education, experience, projects, certifications, skills, resume information, government-job preferences and related information.

Activity and job-related information

The service can store information such as saved jobs, applications, recommendations, notifications and other actions needed to provide those features. When you are signed in, SafalPath may also record a job-view event no more than once per government job per day so the service can understand aggregate job engagement and improve coverage. These view events are used for aggregate analytics and are not displayed to individual users or exposed as a public profile activity history.

Feedback

When you submit feedback, we may receive the message, category, page or job context, language, and an optional contact email. Feedback is available to authorized administrators for support and product operations.

Security and operational information

The service may process technical and request information needed for authentication, abuse prevention, rate limiting, error handling and security. Some rate-limit identifiers are stored in hashed form rather than as a raw identifier.

3. Public profiles

Public career profiles are optional. When you choose to make a profile public, only the fields specifically designed for public display are exposed, such as your public username, display name, headline, location and website. Your private career records are not intended to become public merely because you enable a public profile.

You can switch your profile back to private from your profile settings.

4. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide profile and resume features, save jobs, record applications, generate relevant job recommendations, send product notifications, process feedback, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, understand aggregate job engagement, improve job coverage, and operate and improve SafalPath.

5. Browser-based tools

SafalPath student tools are designed to process uploaded files or text in your browser. The current tool implementation does not intentionally upload those files to Supabase, Supabase Storage, or the application server for processing. Your browser or operating system may still maintain temporary data outside SafalPath's control.

6. Services and third parties

SafalPath relies on infrastructure and service providers needed to operate the website, including authentication and database infrastructure. Account security flows may also use hCaptcha for bot protection. External government and other official websites may open when you follow a job, result, admit-card or other external link; those destinations have their own privacy practices and terms.

7. Security

We use access controls, row-level authorization, server-side validation, rate limiting and other security measures appropriate to the application. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and avoid submitting information you do not want stored as part of your account or support request.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain account and feature data while it is needed to operate the service, maintain security, meet legitimate operational requirements, or comply with applicable obligations. SafalPath does not currently provide a self-service account-deletion button. You may request account or personal-data deletion through our Contact page; requests may need to be verified and may be limited by information that must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal or operational reasons.

9. Your choices and requests

You can edit many account and career details, control whether your career profile is public, and submit a privacy or support request through the Contact page. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, consent and grievance handling. We will assess requests against the information we actually hold and the requirements that apply to the service.

10. India data-protection framework

SafalPath is operated from India. We intend to handle personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data-protection requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection framework as and when its relevant provisions apply to the service. The implementation timeline for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 is phased, so this policy is written to describe the product's actual controls rather than to claim that every legal provision is already in force.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product, data practices or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised update date.

Privacy requests

For a privacy, correction, deletion or data-access request, use the Contact page and include the account email associated with the request. Please do not send passwords or other secrets.
